Guild Wars 2 API Key
Connect an API key to personalize your data and current progress. Your key is saved in this browser and is sent to the official Guild Wars 2 API for validation and account requests.
Before creating your API key
You must log in to the correct Guild Wars 2 account on the ArenaNet website. Use the same login method you use to launch the game.
How do you launch GW2?
- Steam: Choose the Steam login option on the ArenaNet website.
- Epic Games: Choose the Epic Games login option on the ArenaNet website.
- Standalone ArenaNet client: Log in using the ArenaNet account credentials associated with your game.
Important: If you are already logged in to the ArenaNet website with the wrong account, log out first. Then log back in using the correct method before creating your key.
A key from the wrong account may still validate successfully, but GW2 Hub will access that other account instead of your intended characters and progress.
Required permission: account
Recommended: (all) inventories, characters, tradingpost, wallet, unlocks, pvp, wvw, builds, progression, guilds
Open the official ArenaNet login page and sign in using the correct method. Then visit Applications to create your API key.
Enable the account permission at a minimum. Enable any additional permissions required by the GW2 Hub features you want to use. Permissions cannot be changed on an existing key, so create a new key if you need additional ones.
Security note: browser storage is not encrypted. Anyone with access to your browser profile may be able to access a saved key. Never share your key or include it in screenshots, URLs, or messages. Removing the key here deletes the locally saved copy; it does not revoke the key at ArenaNet.
